Every week, Squirrels will gather to grow and learn their way through lots of different games and activities
Squirrels can achieve anything they set their minds to – and they have lots of fun along the way.
The one-hour sessions will be a brilliant opportunity for young people to take their first step into being part of Scouts, and they’ll help everyone get ready for the adventure of school too.
Sessions will be packed with outdoors activities, fun, games, badges, laughter, and so much more to help our youngest members learn the skills they need for life. Of course, none of it would be possible without the support of the amazing leaders who plan and deliver such an inspiring programme.
Squirrels meet on a Thursday afternoon
Thursday evenings from 4.30pm to 5.30pm
If you have a potential Squirrel Scout aged four to six years old and would like to know more then please contact Cathy Challis on 07808 856545 or e-mail cathy.challis@suffolkscouts.org.uk.
Squirrel Promise
I promise to do my best
To be kind and helpful
And to love God.
Squirrel Law
There is no formal Squirrel Scout Law. The concepts expressed in the Scout Law are to be presented to Beaver Scouts through games, storytelling and other informal activities.
Squirrel Motto
Be Prepared
Squirrels uniform consists of a red sweatshirt with your badges sewn on and a coloured scarf or ‘necker’ to represent your local group. There are lots of other optional accessories you can wear such as hats, hoodies, navy blue trousers or shorts, if you’d like to.
There is a range of badges and awards available to young people in the Squirrel Section.
Activity badges
Many of the badges available are activity badges, which allow Scouts to show their progress in existing pursuits, but also to try all kinds of new things and form new interests.
Challenge awards
Challenge Awards are all about stepping outside your comfort zone. Try out something you wouldn’t normally be interested in. Take the lead on something that scares you. Along the way, you’ll unlock hidden talents and stand tall.
A full list of badges and requirements can be found here.
