‘The best part of Scouting is definitely the camps. I love every activity we do apart from swimming. They told us the pool was 24 degrees centigrade. Minus 24 more like!’
At C Pack the activities that we do are varied with the emphasis on personal development, teamwork and fun. We enable the cubs to take part in challenges, work for badges and help out in the community with fundraising. The cubs are able to get involved in the wider scouting world with District Cub Scouting events and joining in with 3rd Sudbury Group activities.
Cubs is the second section of the Scout Group following on from Beavers. Cub Scouts are young people aged between 8 and 10 ½.
C Pack Cubs meet on Monday evenings from 6pm to 7:30pm.
If you have a potential cub scout aged eight to ten years and would like to know more then please contact Kate Stiff on 07717 365430 or e-mail cpack@3rdsudburyscouts.org.uk
Cub Scout Promise
I promise that I will do my best
To do my duty to God and to the Queen
To help other people
And to keep the Cub Scout Law.
Cub Scout Law
Cub Scouts always do their best
Think of others before themselves
And do a good turn every day.
Cub Scout Motto
Be Prepared
Cubs may wear a dark green sweatshirt with a Group scarf (often called a necker) and a woggle in the colour of their Six.
There is a range of badges and awards available to young people in the Cub Section.
Activity badges
Many of the badges available are activity badges, which allow Cubs to show their progress in existing pursuits, but also to try all kinds of new things and form new interests.
Challenge awards
Gaining a challenge badge involves accomplishing a number of more ambitious tasks within the Troop or community. There are several challenge badges across a number of themes, from the physical and outdoorsy to challenges dealing with the local community or issues connected with the Scouting world.
A full list of badges and requirements can be found here.
